BETTY DRIVER'S CORRIE CONNECTION TO OZ
Long before the UK's Betty Driver (deceased) appeared on Coronation Street she had a career as a singer. One of her old hits has been used in an ad campaign for Woolworths the Australian supermarket giant. Betty's version in the video clip above was also a hit in Australia in its day. The new TV advertisement was recorded by Gossling and is playing across Australian TVs as of June 2012.

The latest relationship in crisis is the one between Sean Tully and his boyfriend Marcus Dent on Coronation Street. The problems begin next week when old issues crop up between Sean and Marcus. Viewers might remember that the couple split a few years ago when Marcus grew tired of Sean’s childishness and his jealousy. And that old bugaboo rears its ugly head when Marcus begins spending a lot of time with Aiden, a gay co-worker that Marcus had attempted to fix up with Maria until learning he was gay. Aiden, who is attracted to Marcus, horns in on a romantic evening between Marcus and Sean. Naturally Sean is furious and he and Marcus argue.

Marcus storms off and spends the night at Maria’s place, but Sean assumes Marcus has spent the night with Aiden. Ever the drama queen, Sean goes to Marcus and Aiden’s place of work and creates an ugly scene, accusing Aiden of going after his man. That night, Sean tries to apologize for his behavior, but Marcus begins to realize he doesn’t know Sean anymore or if they can make things work. And with the ongoing issue of Marcus wanting a child and Sean being against it still between them, the couple decide to split.

Look for things to get romantic between Aiden and Marcus…
Charlie Condou, who plays Marcus, says that it was inevitable that Sean and Marcus would have these sort of problems.

"I think Marcus and Sean definitely love each other very much, but they are very different types of men. Marcus is quite a responsible, very caring type of person and he likes looking after Sean, I think.” Condou said on the British chat show Daybreak. “I think that's part of their relationship, and Sean's not really very grown-up and he gets jealous easily. He can be self-centered and a bit selfish at times, and I think ultimately that's going to be the thing that causes problems for them in the end."

But don’t look for Marcus to be alone for too long. While Sean will be moping around and regretting the split, Marcus looks to find romance with Aiden.

"The lovely and very handsome Toby Sawyer [who plays Aiden] is coming back.” Condou said. “He's started filming already and he's back for a little while. So Marcus's love life is definitely going to get very complicated over the next few months!"
