ChasCondouFans: @randlight hello. Been hard going here. Town of Salt Ash nearby went up in flames - houses lost. We lost power overnight for about 12 hours with major storm causing blackouts. Roads are closed due to fallen trees. We are OK but coping without electricity has meant problems communicating and running blog.!!!

PROPERTIES LOST AT PORT STEPHENS

Severe wind and heat have seen several bushfire emergencies around the Hunter region today.

A scrub fire in the Tilligerry State Conservation area between Salt Ash and Tanilba Bay has resulted in reports of 5 properties damaged or destroyed. And another home is been reported lost from a fire on the Hawkesbury at Webbs Creek.

 An evacuation centre has been set up in the community hall at Williamtown for people affected by the Salt Ash fire.

NSW Rural Fire Service spokesman told reporter Carol Duncan that it was unlikely more would be known about the affected properties until crews were able to enter the site on Monday morning.

 Concerns remain for a strong southerly change due up the coast with a severe weather warning, fire weather warning and severe thunderstorm warning accompanying the southerly. A forecast southerly change this evening may push this fire in a number of directions.

As of midnight Sunday there were Watch and Act warnings in place for the Browns Road Salt Ash fire; the Moreland Fire in the Fingal Bay area, Port Stephens; the Tangory Mountain Fire east of Singleton; and the Webbs Creek Fire, Hawkesbury.

Charlie Condou was our Man Of The Year at last year's Attitude Awards. Who should get the 2013 title tomorrow night?

Mark Stynes Man of The Year ERM WHY. Hes a mediocre at best soap actor who played a gay man who was converted by a haidresser fluttering her eyelashes. As a gay man not only do I find that insulting but the fact you award him Man of the Year is beyond belief. My last issue of ATTITUDE has been bought.

Attitude Magazine We honoured Charlie because he's a gay father of two who has been a vocal advocate for same-sex parenting in his charity work, and in his media writing. We're very proud of him.

Mark Stynes Attitude Magazine I know of NO gay man or gay actor who would have been part of such a ridiculous homophobic storyline as that which he is part of IE gay until a female hairdresser fell for him which feeds into the homophobic train of thought that we are gay because we havent met the right girl yet. For me actions speak louder than words I couldnt care less what he has been vocal about his role in Corrie has been an absolute disgrace and an insult to gay people. Nice to know as long as its a job its ok to sell your principles.

So good luck on your awards but lets be honest the unimportant ATTITUDE self congratulating luvvie fest awards are not the STONEWALL awards which actually matter.
