Charlie Condou: The three of us
Two dads, one mum – one family
By Charlie Condou
The Guardian, Saturday 17 December 2011

Here is an excerpt from the article:
[…I've been on the IVF rollercoaster and, trust me, nobody takes that ride lightly... The first IVF doctor we saw was ambivalent at best about my involvement in Catherine's pregnancy. He refused to see me as the father and would only refer to me as the "sperm donor"…The minor humiliation that the man goes through is nothing compared with the ravages visited on the woman's body…We spent a lot of money on failed IVF cycles before finally moving to a clinic that supported us as parents-to-be and, bingo, Georgia was conceived first try (and the new baby was a one-shot hit too)…]

Bally64
Bally64: @lauraob22 @Charliecondou i didn't say they shouldn't i was simply asking the question?
Brendan_Surrey
Brendan_Surrey: @Charliecondou @StephenFry follows that clown. I don't think he would be amused by that pig ignorance
Graeme_Hawley
Graeme_Hawley: @Charliecondou I love the 21st C! Just as many racists + homophobes, but now, with retweet + YouTube, it's so much easier to laugh at them!
Jules_D_Evans
Jules_D_Evans: @Charliecondou @Bally64 Why shouldn't they? There are good and bad parents everywhere. Baby P didnt have gay parents...
Bally64
Bally64: @Jules_D_Evans @Charliecondou totally agree, its just funny how everyone has freedom of speech as long as it agrees with the majority
aliJcorrie
aliJcorrie: @Charliecondou kids have a right to be brought up by parents who care for, love and nurture them that's what matters - gay or straight xx
Charlie Condou
Charliecondou: @aliJcorrie Quite right! And lets face it, they let YOU have kids ;-)
Charlie Condou
Charliecondou: @aliJcorrie (BTW did you get all that stuff I left for you?)
CharlotteJayneS
CharlotteJayneS: “@Charliecondou: @aliJcorrie (BTW did you get all that stuff I left for you?)” yes thankyou so much charlie for doing the interview too!

Bally64
Bally64: @Wendy_Wason @Charliecondou No a question, i have no feelings either way whether they should be allowed children or not
guy_interruptd
guy_interruptd: @Charliecondou no, I think we're all aware enough of how badly our straight parents fucked us up not to repeat their mistakes
Sophie Heawood

Mavro_arni
Mavro_Arni: @Charliecondou @Tom_In_Oz_ Only if straight people are required to as well. The gay parents I know plan having their children w/great care.
David Wright
davetomwright: @Charliecondou What's wrong with counselling? It doesn't imply there is anything 'wrong' with someone. Should be offered to heteros too
Charlie Condou
Charliecondou: @davetomwright that's my point, everyone should have it
David Wright
davetomwright: @Charliecondou Its ironic- those who HAVE 2 b more conscious are offered it. Same for hetero IVF. Maybe regular heteros wouldnt see benefit? Not a (gay) parent yet myself but would get a counsellor during that process. Would welcome the offer, especially if free!

BABY DUE ON CORONATION STREET

Charlie Condou, best known for playing character Marcus Dent on the Manchester soap Coronation Street, is awaiting a second baby with his friend Catherine Kanter. Catherine is also mother to Condou's first child, Georgia Mae. Georgia splits her time between living with her mum and living with Charlie and his partner Cameron Laux.
Charlie and family are expecting a boy in January 2012. Charlie playfully took to Twitter and this blog to announce, "I'm having another baby! Can't wait, though it took me ages to get my figure back last time."

Coronation Street: Charlie Condou wants Marcus to have a fling with Jason Grimshaw!

http://primetime.unrealitytv.co.uk/

During an interview with Inside Soap magazine, Corrie star Charlie Condou – who plays Marcus Dent – has revealed that he’d love his character to have a fling with Jason Grimshaw, who’s played by Ryan Thomas. Of the notion of the affair being written into the show, Charlie said, “Somehow I don’t think it would ever happen…“But I love Jason. Ryan is one of the loveliest, sweetest men I’ve worked with – he’s naughty and a lot of fun!” Charlie went on to reveal that fans of the show often ask him when Marcus and Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) are going to get married…He said, “I think it would be great if they got married. “There have been lots of rumours, but I’m afraid they’re just that at the moment – rumours. “If Sean and Marcus were to get married, it would have to be a big, camp affair – so watch this space!”
