Maria’s hurt when Marcus obviously doesn't want to admit she’s his girlfriend!
In next week’s episodes of Coronation Street, Maria Connor (Samia Ghadie) is set to face heartache when her boyfriend, Marcus Dent (Charlie Condou) is clearly reluctant to tell his friends that he’s in a relationship with her. The drama begins when Marcus receives an invitation to the wedding of two of his gay friends, as does his former boyfriend, Sean Tully (Antony Cotton). However, Marcus doesn't tell Maria about the invitation, but Sean lets slip about it, which makes Maria question why Marcus didn't tell her himself…So, unable to come up with a good excuse as to why they shouldn't go to the wedding, Marcus and Maria do attend, but as we’ll see in the episode that airs on Friday 7th June, Marcus is put in a predicament when asked how he and Maria met. Clearly embarrassed, Marcus tells his friends that he and Maria share a flat, before finally admitting that they are an item. As Sean mutters “Finally!” and raises a glass to Marcus, Maria is mortified while the group quiz them about the fact that Marcus has “gone straight”. And in later episodes, we’re set to see Maria questioning her entire relationship with Marcus after he says that he’s “still a gay man” who fell for a woman! Can the couple get through this? Or is it the end of the road? Find out this week…
