STRAWBERRY LETTER 23

Above: My granddaughter is about to turn one this coming weekend and Charlie's daughter is about to turn three. It's an interesting coincidence wouldn't you say? Charlie's birthday, strangely enough, coincides with my brother Geoffrey's. As you can see above the theme colour is going to be "strawberry!"

Today I decided to blog what I do to keep busy. 

It's nothing particularly special but hey, it fills a chapter on the blog!

My wife (Mrs Oz) and I went out today on a few different invites and missions. I am nearing retirement due to numerous medical problems, one of which is co-contraction tremors of the hands and the majority of others are respiratory problems. So it was off to get meds at the crack of dawn. The doctor also invited us to drop back later in the afternoon, as you will discover at the end of my jottings. Next, it was off to Lemon Tree Passage to see my parents. On arrival, my mother gave me a considerable stash of money and said she was keeping money for me [and each of my three brothers], stored in biscuit tins for when she died but decided she would give it to me today instead. To my surprise, it was in paper notes which went out of circulation many years ago in Australia, nowadays we have mylar plastic notes. After this little windfall, it was onto lunch at the official opening of a McDonald's restaurant, which has opened in our suburb. Mrs Oz and I were invited guests. After this, it was afternoon tea with our daughter, granddaughter and son-in-law. Their house is set-up ready for the coming weekend birthday party. My wife and our daughter decided to get a drop on proceedings by trying out where the party food would be placed and so-forth. They decided on a "strawberry" colour scheme as you can see in the picture above. And...the last part of the day was back at doctor's to pick up a set of documents declaring my wife as my "official carer." It's thirty-five years of marriage this year in December and she is not only my wife but now my carer...You don't stop to think about things like that when you get married at  nineteen, like I was...
