BULLYING
I sincerely hope the DIVERSITY ANTI DISCRIMINATION video [below] makes it to a wide audience. There are about 1 in 10 people in the world who are gay, lesbian or bisexual and face constant criticism for just being the way they were born.
Being a seasoned school teacher myself I have seen more than 30 years of playground situations where innocent children become targeted with taunts, hateful words and bullying. Today’s world is hard enough without having ill-informed families and societal groups perpetuating and condoning various types of bullying.
Just remember, if you see bullying anywhere, get involved! Don’t stand back and allow a bully to grow in strength. A bully usually needs an audience. So, if possible, remove the audience. Educate the peer group about their responsibilities to protect the victim. Oh, and education is not just for the classroom. As with all things, what is needed from a very young age, is solid role modelling by parents and family.
It takes a village to raise a child.
