It will have a genuine claim to be London's top restaurant

The Paramount is at the peak of Centre Point, London and at time of publishing was the highest restaurant complex in London. The 32nd-floor restaurant, with 360- degree views stretching as far as Windsor Castle, pips the current holder of the title Galvin at Windows, on the 28th storey of the Park Lane Hilton.

Pierre Condou, founder and owner of Paramount, which had actor Stephen Fry and City PR svengali Alan Parker among its high-profile backers, said it was originally a members only club but we have opened it to the public because the decision had been taken to meet a huge demand for tables. 

Pierre said: “Ever since we opened in 2008 we have had numerous people asking us to dine.

Although there is a higher restaurant on the 40th floor of the Gherkin tower in the City, this is generally only available to people who work in the building.

However, Paramount may not hold on to its title of highest London restaurant for long.
