The closing ceremony of Manchester's Pride ends with a candlelight vigil. David McAlmont sings and there are appearances from several TV stars including Charlie Condou.

Pride came to a glittering finale after four days of celebrations over the Big Weekend. The annual festival, which celebrates Manchester’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender culture, has attracted thousands of visitors to the city centre over the Bank Holiday weekend. The weather, which has largely stayed sunny, is expected to see visitor numbers up on last year’s washout summer. Thousands of revellers centred their celebrations on the Main Arena inside the Gay Village on Sackville Street. There, music stars including The Feeling, Sam Sparro, the Sugababes and Shayne Ward entertained the masses while celebrating the message of Pride.
And never was that more poignant than at the annual candlelit vigil at Sackville Gardens which brought the event to a close last night. Coronation Street star Charlie Condou hosted the George House Trust Memorial vigil, which remembers all those affected by HIV.
David McAlmont performed at the close of the night with a magical version of Over the Rainbow.
The event was brought to a haunting conclusion with Ren Harvieu singing A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes as the crowd lit and held up candles.
The evening, and the whole Pride event, was finished in style by the usual impressive firework display on the edge of Sackville Gardens.
