Confidential_CC: This is when one of your witty followers pipes up and says "get a room you two" but we all know at this time of year all that's available are the stables out back! @Charliecondou @misterhsk

CORRIE CHRISTMAS WEEK SPOILER
Above: It's beginning to look at lot like Christmas on Corrie...Marcus Dent has a big surprise coming to town soon and it's not Santa!

Above: It's the first time we meet Marcus’s parents this coming week on Corrie and it looks like things are on the up as they seem to like Maria, but discussing his change of sexuality with them only makes Marcus question himself more.
Above: To top off Christmas events for Marcus and Maria, Sean goes into a tailspin and says that Marcus won't be able to have contact with their once shared son Dylan!

NB.I'm glad this kind of spiteful behaviour only happens on Corrie and never in real life - Tom.

Has an 'Extra' ever become a full-time member of the cast?

The following conversation is from a Digital Spy forum - so it has to be true, right?
lionkingonstage: Emily Bishop started off as a extra then in January 1961 she became a full time member!
Dr K Noisewater: Bill Tarmey appeared as an extra in the background in the Rovers for years before being cast as Vera's never-seen-but-often-mentioned husband Jack. The character of Jack was meant to be a keen drinker so the writers said it made sense he could have been spotted in the Rovers prior to his actual casting as Jack. Thus making them both the same character although this originally hadnt been planned.
Burstfire: Charlie Condou (Marcus) in Coronation Street didn't have a speaking role for ages before becoming a leading actor. He was virtually an extra.
