Sexuality confusion continues for Marcus
Coronation Street's Maria will be left reeling when she catches her boyfriend Marcus in a passionate embrace with Todd Grimshaw, it has been revealed.
The hairdresser, played by Samia Ghadie, will seek comfort from Audrey when she walks in on her man in a shirtless moment of intimacy with someone else. Teaser snaps show Maria storming furiously away from her lover, while he follows her - shirt in hand - and watches her driving off. Marcus, played by Charlie Condou, first appeared on the show back in 2007, remaining for a year before making a comeback in April 2011. He is set to clear off again this summer. He was initially introduced as a love interest for Sean (Antony Cotton) but when that went awry for the second time, he ended up with Maria. Condou said when his departure was confirmed: "I've had a fantastic time at Corrie but feel it's time for me to move on. "I was only meant to return for three months and ended up staying for three years! The producers have been really supportive and are leaving the door open for Marcus which is great and my exit will certainly be explosive." Stuart Blackburn, show producer, added "I will be incredibly sad to see Charlie go and wish him well for what I know will be an exciting future."
