Coronation Street star Charlie Condou has confirmed that he has signed up to stay on the street for two more years. The 39-year-old actor - who plays midwife Marcus Dent in the ITV1 show - responded to a report in The Daily Mirror saying he had signed a new contract. Charlie told his fans on Twitter: "Thanks for message, I'm obviously very pleased to have signed my new Corrie contract. Lots of stories planned." Charlie joined the show for a year in 2007 and returned in 2011. His character Marcus has recently been struggling to come to terms with his bisexuality after he fell for single mum Maria Connor, played by Dancing On Ice beauty Samia Ghadie, despite thinking he was gay.

'I CONDOU ANYTHING'
Dear blog readers,
I have besieged Charlie Condou to write his own book about his early life, his non-conventional family unit, charity work and acting; in the hopes that one day, before I am in the home for the terminally bewildered, he has something in print - Tom Wynn.
NB. The Charlie Condou Blog is full of interesting events and stories that could surely fill a book and the Blog is only 2 years of Charlie's life, let alone the "queer years!" - a recent Corrie line uttered by Marcus Dent!

Charlie grew up in Soho, London. Nowadays, his mum Kathy and stepfather Pierre run two bars in London: the PARAMOUNT and the CENTURY. If you are ever in the city and want a great time they are excellent venues. The Paramount has some of the best views in London.
If you trawl back through this blog you will discover pictures and stories of numerous parties and functions held in these venues when Charlie wanted to support charities with fundraisers or celebrate events like birthdays. Pierre and Kathy have supported Charlie over the years volunteering much time and many man-hours.
