British school leader Shaun Dellenty uploads declaration to YouTube as part of charity campaign.

The deputy head teacher of a school in England has posted a video on YouTube stating he is proud to be gay. Shaun Dellenty's post is part of a campaign by the charity Proud2Be, that is aimed at raising self esteem within the LGBT community. The teacher, whose anti-gay bullying program at London's Alfred Salter Primary School has been making waves with educators around the UK, told Gay Star News: 'I was on holiday in Scotland, up a mountain and suddenly inspiration struck and I thought let's do it now.' He added: 'For a lot of people, coming to terms with life as an LGBT person, can mean climbing up a mountain, so thought let's go with the metaphore.' Dellenty himself is an active campaigner and founded his charity, Inclusion for All, to eliminate the homophobic bullying that plagues school playgrounds. It was because of his campaigning that Dellenty was featured in the Independent on Sunday's annual Pink List. He told GSN: 'I found out because some ex-pupils emailed me last Saturday night, early in the morning, basically saying, when we were in school, you inspired us. That was a lovely way to find out.' Proud2Be was established in June 2011, when identical twins Mat and Jon Price uploaded a video saying that they were proud to be gay. Many public figures have followed suit such as Stephen Fry and politicians Nigel Evans and Michael Cashman.
