PATRON: CHARLIE CONDOU

AKT supports young LGBT 16-25 year olds who are made homeless or living in a hostile environment.

Patron, Charlie Condou is a former Guardian columnist, gay rights activist, philanthropist and actor who is best known for his role as sonographer, Marcus Dent, in the British soap opera, Coronation Street. He has had a wide and varied film and television career, including guest appearances in 'Gimme, Gimme, Gimme', a cameo role as one of the elves in 'Fred Claus' and appearing in the film 'Good' with Viggo Mortensen. Leaving Coronation Street in 2008, Condou returned three years later in 2011, with his character, Marcus, developing significantly and becoming hugely popular with the public. Charlie is a Patron, role model, supporter and volunteer to many LGBT and diversity organisations as well as an advocate of same-sex parenting. He is a welcome addition to our illustrious list of patrons and, as with all our fantastic patrons and supporters, we are proud to have him as part of the AKT family.
