Today after sending out my usual blog topic updates which included the latest round of gaffs by Oz PM Tony Abbott, I was sent a very unusually worded tweet from one of my followers @mwprmark who works as a government avisor at the following company http://www.mwpr.cc/

Pasta company Bertolli release pro-gay advert & rivals Barilla eat humble pie

An advert for pasta company Bertolli has poked fun at rival Barilla following their chairman's controversial anti-gay comments. Bertolli, one of the largest pasta brands in the world, ran the image on their German Facebook page following the comments by Barilla Chairman Guido Barilla saying their company would never feature same sex couples in their advertisements. Bertolli's advert features three pasta 'couples' - two holding hands with the same pasta, one mixed - along with the slogan 'Pasta and love for all!'

The advert follows a week of controversy for Barilla, after their Chairman Guido Barilla announced on Italian radio that the adverts for his company would never feature gay couples. Following worldwide condemnation, Barilla has since attempted to backtrack on his comments, saying in a statement: 'It is clear that I have a lot to learn about the lively debate concerning the evolution of the family. 'In the coming weeks, I pledge to meet representatives of the group that best represent the evolution of the family, including those who have been offended by my words.'

It's like he shuts himself off from everything that is making him uncomfortable and stares off into space when he's being called out. Classic narcissism; 'La la la...I'm not listening...going to my happy place in my head!'

If reports are true, Australian authorities were notified about the plight of asylum seekers 24 hours earlier. And, if those reports are true, then Abbott does indeed carry some of the responsibility, as does Scott Morrison, and the entire command structure of "Operation Sovereign Borders" (which is an Abbott policy), including Angus Campbell who was appointed by Tony Abbott.
