PROMISES - ERIC CLAPTON
'Promises' was one of Eric's solo hits from the mid 1970s and was recorded at Criteria Studios, Miami. The studios were opened in the same year I was born and over the years many famous people have recorded there including the Oz popsters the Bee Gees who recorded 'Saturday Night Fever' and other albums in Miami. 'Promises' by Clapton was released on the album '461 Ocean Boulevard' which was his home in Golden Beach Miami when he recorded it.

An Approximation Of… when the sun comes out in the UK
This is a second and slightly longer remix of Gamu's single "Shake The Room" which should play in most parts of the world unlike the YouTube clip I posted last week which was blocked in some countries due to copyright issues.

MIAMI / PORT STEPHENS
In Port Stephens Australia (where I live), we are in the last few weeks of Autumn and our daily temps range from the teens to mid 20s Celsius. Meanwhile, it's the start of Spring in Florida USA and their temps range from low 20s overnight to low 30s in the daytime. This is our first week where our daily temps have not reached the low 30s by day.
One of the more noticeable differences is air quality of both places. Port Stephens (shown above), has relatively few problems with pollution compared to Miami which has a lingering orange haze. That lovely glow often portrayed in the TV show CSI Miami is not as unnatural as you may think!
Dad-vice: pearls of fatherhood wisdom from our favourite celebrity dads
Ben Foden, Danny Wallace, Charlie Condou and Giles Coren reveal their top tips for nailing new daddyhood
By Danielle Hine and Hannah Fox
'Try and remember your sex life because you probably won’t be having one for a couple of years. You have to schedule it in. It’s like “we’ve got 10 minutes!” Oh, and make the most of the free NHS breastfeeding classes – they’re great. Also, talk about everything to do with kids before you have them. A lot of the time, people get together, get married, and then gradually move towards having kids. And they don’t necessarily discuss all the details about how they want to bring the kids up like schooling, discipline - even stuff like what you want them to eat. We had to talk about it a lot, because of the situation we were in. Having children is a really big thing and it’s a huge responsibility. Because I know that, myself, Cameron and Catherine are on the same page, that means we don’t clash.'
