 GET set for a bar brawl in the Rovers Return tonight.

Builder Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas, 28) lashes out when he discovers girlfriend Maria Connor has been romping with her gay best mate Marcus Dent. Marcus and Maria (Samia Ghadie, 30) confess all over a pint - and all hell breaks loose. But the scenes were more violent than bosses first planned. Charlie Condou, (39), who plays Marcus, said: "In the script it was just supposed to be a punch across the table. "But then a fight co-ordinator came over and said, 'I want you to punch him across the table, drag him against the bar, slam him into the bar, he then drops to the floor, then you kick him, pick him up and smash his head on the bar'. So it was a big fight! "And I actually kicked him in the head. "In the heat of the moment it was just one of those things that happened."

INAUGURAL AWARDS 

DATE IS ANNOUNCED
Square Peg Media, the leading diversity publishing and events company in the UK, have announced that the inaugural g3 and Out in the City Reader Awards will be held in London’s Landmark Hotel on 26th April 2013. In the first combined awards ceremony of its kind, the readers of the highly successful gay and lesbian magazines g3 and Out in the City will vote in a range of categories celebrating the individuals, companies and groups that are outstanding in the field of LGBT equality. The awards will be hosted by a Coronation Street star Charlie Condou plus actress and model Sophie Ward, in the grand ballroom followed by a drinks reception and party for the winners. Submissions for the awards will be open throughout December and January with the short-list published in the February issues of g3 and Out in the City. Readers will be able to vote on-line throughout February and March.

'Coronation Street' Marcus, Maria secret exposed

Tonight's Corrie double bill sees Jason (Ryan Thomas) left heartbroken as Maria ends their relationship, and when she isn't exactly forthcoming about the reasons why, he can't help but feel that he isn't hearing the full story. Later, Maria (Samia Ghadie) and Marcus (Charlie Condou) resolve to keep their romance under wraps for the time being, but their plan is immediately thwarted when a shocked Sean Tully walks in on them kissing at the flat. With Sean now aware of what is going on, it's not long before Jason also finds out the truth - leading to a huge showdown at The Rovers as the builder turns violent in a row with Marcus…
