MARCUS AND SEAN BACK IN THE DAY
Below: This picture comes from the set of Coronation Street back in the day when Marcus Dent (Charlie Condou) was partnered to Sean (Antony Cotton). It's another one of those rare pictures that Charlie has probably never seen.
I have never asked Charlie about the Coronation Street cast and what they are like away from the set. He always says nice things about them in his tweets but I kinda get the impression for some of the cast they don't have to play characters that are too far removed from their real-life personas.

THE PRICE OF FAME

Not so long back a large [but not at all reputable] newspaper sent out candid pictures of Charlie and Cameron pushing their daughter Georgia in her stroller.
Being newspaper fodder is the price numerous showbiz celebrities pay for fame and they are well aware that they are fair game with the paparazzi. It's part of the two-edged sword of being in showbiz.
Charlie has always said that he doesn't mind what shots are taken of himself (and there are many), as it's part of his job to be recognised, it's what pays the bills! But, Charlie has always insisted on protecting his 2 children from the media glare.
You can imagine his anguish and disgust when he spotted the picture above being circulated freely on the internet without prior consideration given to his daughter's anonymity. It took many days and numerous requests before the newspaper pixilated Georgia's face but by then the picture may have been downloaded by hundreds of people. In fact the photographer had lodged about 10 additional copies on-line similar to the one they used in the newspaper article. I spotted those and sent requests on behalf of Charlie to have them removed.
I would like to say thank you to Charlie, Cameron and Catherine for allowing this blog to share all manner of pictures and articles and news. In years to come some of this blog will be like a family photo album they can all look back over, and Charlie will have a lot of explaining to do to the children, especially the 80's hair...Oh, and the following response to Cher's tweet!
