'Margin Call' got it’s glittering UK
premiere last night in London’s Leicester Square with British stars Paul
Bettany and Jeremy Irons turning out to support the financial thriller. Also
starring Demi Moore, Kevin Spacey and Penn Badgley the film is set on the eve
of the 2008 financial crisis and follows an investment bank in the 24 hours
after they find out they are about to go under. Already a huge hit in the US,
'Margin Call' takes a more human look at the crisis which led to a global
recession. Jeremy Irons, who plays CEO of the company Richard Fuld told Entertainment
wise: “It involves the characters involved and so it sort of brings it to
life, it’s not just monstrous of bankers." First time director J. C
Chandor is hoping to emulate the success the film has had stateside and Jeremy
puts its popularity is down to the audiences’ interest in the subject. He said:
“some people have been enormously hurt; most people have been completely
bemused and can’t understand it. The film helps clarify what happens.” I’m a
Celebrity star Jessica Jane Clements added some glamour to the occasion in
a daring red slash dress which showed off her enviable body. Bianca Gascoigne, Coronation
Street’s Charlie Condou and Dancing on Ice’s Zaraah Abrahams also
arrived on the red carpet for the premiere.
