MISSISSAUGA — Attention Corrie fans, everyone's favourite sonographer is coming to town.
Actor Charlie Condou, aka Marcus Dent on the popular British soap Coronation Street, is the featured star at the British Isles Show, running this Friday through Sunday at the International Centre.
The meet-and-greet is being held on a first-come, first-served basis. Times will be announced later this week on www.britishislesshowcanada.com Other highlights of the weekend include the Liverpool4 Tribute Band, performing Beatles classics at 6 p.m. Friday, 4 p.m. Saturday and 3:30 p.m. Sunday; the Doherty School of Irish Dance at 3 p.m. Friday, 10:30 a.m. Saturday and 12:30 p.m. Sunday; and Ajax's The Wallace-Symington Highland Dance School at 2 p.m. Friday, 12:30 p.m. Saturday and 1:30 pm. Sunday.
The British Isles Show pays tribute to the heritage of England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and surrounding islands. It features food vendors, speciality products, travel exhibitors and more.
This year, the show is at a new location at the International Centre, Hall 6, Mississauga ON and it's next to Pearson International Airport. Detailed directions and a map are here. There's also a bus stop right at the door and that web site tells you which buses you can take.
Tickets to get you into the show are $15.00 per adult and you can get them on-line at the British Isles site or at the door. Once inside, you can see all the exhibits, and see the other entertainment they put on as well as meet Charlie Condou. Your entrance ticket covers the events.
